“’N-E-K-O?’ That’s a funny way to spell ‘cocaine!’”
What happens when you put the screenplay writer for Sanctuary and Baoh together with with the director of Urban Square? You don’t get a hardboiled action noir thriller, that’s for sure. No, they cancel each other out and you wind up with Nekoneko Fantasia, in which a kitten makes a Christmas wish and turns into a little girl, leading to shenanigans.
No, I don’t understand how this happened.
Not a very well-made title, either: Rough pans, heavy rainbowing, and a bad case of the jitters means this is never gonna look great, but I think I’ve done a reasonable job with it.
Still, it looks like it might be reasonbly fun for its 23-minute runtime. I know, the video runs 30 minutes, but seven of that is a needlessly long credit sequence, and, oddly, a preview for the first Leisure Club OVA. Its rare to have previews for unrelated titles on a laserdisc.
